St. Margaret's Cleans Up at League Track & Field Championships

The Tartans boast 12 individual league champs and two team championships.
St. Margaret's track & field program had a big day at the Orange Coast League Championships held at Saddleback College on Thursday.

With team scores of 170 for the boys and 150 for the girls, the event marks the second consecutive Orange Coast League team championship for both squads. The wins propel 29 Tartan athletes to CIF qualification, an increase over 2023 results.

The Tartans competed to 12 individual league championships on Thursday:

Sophia Kistler- 100m
Everett Capelle (League MVP)- 1600m (set a new league record), 3200m
Evan Causee- 800m
Mark Cyr- Discus 
Ocean Heim- Long Jump
Ava Klausner- High Jump
Ryder Shaw- Triple Jump
Sara Mclaughlin- Girls Pole Vault
Leo Curran- Boys Pole Vault
Girls 4x1- Malia Todd, Sophia Kistler, Coco Johnson, Addie West
Girls 4x4- Ella Grove, Lia Frick, Elie Shook, Sophia Kistler

The Tartans will next prepare for CIF Prelims, set to begin Saturday, May 4 at Carpinteria High School.
