Tartan Volleyball Advances to CIF Regional Semifinal Round

St. Margaret's defeated Carlsbad 3-0 on Tuesday.
St. Margaret's boys volleyball program opened the CIF Regional Playoffs on Tuesday evening with a 3-0 win over visiting Carlsbad High School.
 
The Tartans battled the Lancers through 3 games, with Carlsbad putting up a dedicated fight in each. St. Margaret's played a steady, controlled style with consistent service pressure and overcame a significant height disadvantage at the net with superior ball control and defense. Reed Wainwright led with 18 kills, 4 aces and 11 digs while Luke Balint had 6 kills, 2 aces and 4 digs. Luke Reinkensmeyer contributed 10 kills and 8 digs in the win.
 
The Tartans will next face Torrey Pines High School in the CIF Div. II Regional Semifinal at Torrey Pines on Thursday, May 18, at 6 p.m. Tickets are available by clicking here.
