St. Margaret's Girls Lacrosse Tops Edison in OT Thriller
The Tartans battled the Chargers for a 13-12 win Thursday.
Lauren Lam netted an overtime game-winner to push the Tartans past visiting Edison High School 13-12 Thursday evening on Tartan Field. The Chargers went on a late-game three-goal rally to force the overtime period before Lam (4 goals, 6 draw controls) shut the door and brought home the win for St. Margaret's.
Lam's four-goal game was backed up by Minka Martinez's 7 points (4g, 3a, 10 dc) and Claire Cho's 2 goals and 1 assist to improve the Tartans' record to 6-1 on the year. Scarlett Welsome, Grace Burke and Greta Blau all found the scoresheet with one goal each.
Defensively, Weslome added 13 draw controls, 3 ground balls and 2 caused turnovers, while Grace Burke and Sarah Groeninger added 2 ground balls and 2 caused turnovers each. Goaltender Kaitlin McRae made 17 saves on the night.
The Tartans will next take on Agoura on Tartan Field, on Saturday, March 25, at 10:30 am.
