St. Margaret's Swim Program Impresses at Santa Margarita Invitational

The Tartans equated themselves well against top-flight opponents.
 
The Tartan swim team posted impressive results despite gloomy skies and wet weather at the Santa Margarita Invitational last weekend. St. Margaret's competed against teams from Santa Margarita Catholic High School, Trabuco Hills High School, Irvine High School and Fountain Valley High School and qualified for the finals in every event entered.
 
Zoe Reynolds placed first in the 200 freestyle and 200 individual medley while Heidi Tufo swam to a first-place finish in the 100 freestyle and second place in the 100 I.M. The Tartan relay teams also brought home the hardware with third place finishes in the 400 medley (Zoe Reynolds, Heidi Tufo, Lucy Young, Rainbow Li, Eden Harrington, Claire Martin, Annika Tufo and Natalia Garcia) and the 400 freestyle (Zoe Reynolds, Heidi Tufo, Lucy Young, Rainbow Li, Eden Harrington, Claire Martin, Annika Tufo and Nixie Pedraza) events.
 
On the boys side, Archer Spindle placed second in the 50 freestyle. Daniel Lyons also swam a personal best time to win the consolation finals in the 200 I.M.
 
The Tartans return to league competition on Tuesday, March 21, facing Orange High School.
