A St. Margaret’s student-produced literary publication was recently recognized as a REALM First Class magazine by the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE).
The magazine, titled Visions, was edited, designed and published by St. Margaret’s senior Tina Mai. Tina curated more than 50 literary and visual art submissions from Upper School and Middle School students to create the publication during the spring of last school year. She was assisted in editing and distribution by Upper School seniors Alexis Lindenfelser and Eileen Sadati.
“We had so many diverse submissions that the final magazine became a full-length book featuring 52 contributors in 140 pages of award-winning work, from poetry and critical essays to digital art and ceramics,” Tina said.
Visions was one of 38 REALM First Class recipients out of 262 submissions nationwide, and one of only three in California.
