FrightFEST Spotlights Spooky Creations From Talented Tartan Artists

St. Margaret’s talented Upper School artists and performers were in the spotlight last week, showcasing their most spooky creations for the annual FrightFEST Arts Showcase in the Darcy Rice Center for the Arts.
The event included Halloween-themed photography, music, dance, theater and film works by advanced Upper School arts students.
While the afternoon was a spooky celebration of student creativity and Halloween festivities, the festival also included 28 professional filmmakers, photographers, actors and artists who viewed the student work, gave feedback and selected the Jury Awards.
The Jury Awards went to:
Best Photography: Isabella Karmis, Winston Verdult, and Kaylynn Yang for their photograph “Medusa”
Best Acting: Emily Guerinot for her role as Amaya in the film 7 Minutes written, directed, and edited by Kat Dubrow
Best Film: The Dark Portrait written, directed, and edited by Riley Harrison
The Innovation Award was given to Link Canchola, Coco Johnson, and Tessa Maryott for their unique rear projection multi-media live performances of The Locket, The Girl Who Stood on a Grave, and The Hook.
