St. Margaret's Baseball Notches Big League Win Over Century

The Tartans defeated the Centurions 7-0 at Angel Stadium Wednesday afternoon.
After a two-year hiatus, St. Margaret's returned to Angel Stadium in Anaheim to participate in the Halo Classic, facing Century High School on Wednesday afternoon. The Tartans rattled off a 7-0 win to improve their Halo Classic record to 3-2 with wins in 2022, 2019 and 2017.
St. Margaret's received another outstanding effort on the mound by Andrew Miehe, who recorded a shutout with 11 strikeouts, zero walks, zero runs, and only two hits over seven innings. The outing is marked as the first complete-game shutout by a pitcher in Tartan baseball program history.
Offensively, Hunter Smith went 2-3 with three runs, a triple and four stolen bases, while Shane Olvera-Harle went 1-3 with a run, triple and one stolen base. Miehe provided his own insurance, driving in two runs and scoring one.
With the win, the Tartans improve to 7-2 overall.
"It was a perfect day at the Big A yesterday. We were great on the mound, in the field and at the plate; everyone got in the game," said head coach Scott Wallace. "It's always a great experience for the players and families, and we look forward to doing it again next year. It's also nice to beat Century, who ended our 14 game win streak in '19 during the playoffs."
St. Margaret's returns to action on Friday, March 25, on the road against Upland High School.
