St. Margaret's boys lacrosse program hit the ground running, rattling off two non-league wins without conceding a goal. The Tartans defeated Culver City 15-0 on Feb. 22 and San Marcos 12-0 on Feb. 26.
Over two games, the Tartans have been led by Will Stahl (6g, 2a), Owen Binder (5g, 1a), Matt Groeninger (4g, 2a), Riley Chester (3g, 3a), John Culley (3g, 2a), Makai Todd (2g, 3a) and Seth Forstot (2g).
St. Margaret's defense has kept opponents off the score sheet behind the play of Makai Todd (3 caused turnovers, 3 ground balls), Halen Hickman-Goveia (3ct), Jack Stahl (2ct, 5gb) and Hayden Chester (1ct, 6gb). Netminder Sebastien Chicas has made five saves on the year.
"It feels great to be back on the field again. The guys have worked hard all offseason, and it's always nice to find success early in the year," said head coach Brian Kelly. "Our focus is on getting a little bit better every day, and hopefully, we can continue to build positive momentum."
The Tartans will next face Westlake on Tartan Field this Saturday, March 5, at 2 p.m.
