Tartan Football Grounds Eagles in 42-0 Win

St. Margaret's celebrated homecoming with a bang against CVCS on Friday.
On Friday evening, the Tartans made the most of a festive homecoming atmosphere, scoring just 24 seconds into the game en route to a 42-0 victory over visiting Capistrano Valley Christian School.

Offensively, St. Margaret's was at times unstoppable behind receiver Will Stahl's 68 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback Jack Ruff completed seven of eight passes for 109 yards and three touchdowns, while brother Max contributed 30 yards passing and one touchdown. Receiver Kai Todd added a touchdown and 30 yards on two catches, with running back Benton Barlow rushing for 114 yards on 20 attempts and one touchdown. Barlow also had two catches for 22 yards in the win.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Tartans relied on a team effort to keep the Eagles out of the endzone. Battle Gideons and Trey Kingsley both had fumble recoveries, and Kai Todd blocked and returned a CVCS field goal attempt for an 85-yard touchdown to seal it for St. Margaret's. Will Stahl was also stellar in the secondary, with many broken-up passes and an interception returned for a touchdown. In addition, Andrew Miehe recorded a crucial sack to keep CVCS off of the scoreboard.

Kickers Sean Olvera-Harle (2/2) and Nathaniel Kim (1/1) were perfect on PAT's to keep the Tartans rolling.

St. Margaret's will hit the road to face Calipatria on Friday, Oct. 22, at 7:00 p.m.
