St. Margaret’s cinematics art program took the virtual spotlight last weekend, as the annual Spring Film Festival showcasing student films moved online.

The work of cinematic arts students grades 7-12 were featured, with more than 20 films included in the festival.

“When we moved to remote learning, students had to shift gears into filmmaking from home and several films reflect that new way of life,” St. Margaret’s film teacher Karen Bennett said. “The films are wonderful, and while it is sad that we are unable to be together at Hurlbut Theater to watch them, a remote film festival provides the opportunity to see their great work.”

The film festival launched Saturday night on Vimeo, and voting opened at that time for the Audience Choice Award. This year’s winner was Emma Evanson for her film Anatomy of a Roast.
