Parent Up Speaker Series Focused on Purpose Concludes With Mallika Chopra

Ms. Chopra spoke to parents, St. Margaret’s professional community and Lower School students on her work developing mindful practices, living a life of balance, and the benefits of meditation.
The 2019-2020 PTF Parent Up Speaker Series, which supports St. Margaret’s ongoing health and wellness initiative with a focus on living a life of purpose, concluded with noted author, entrepreneur and speaker Mallika Chopra.

Ms. Chopra spoke to parents, St. Margaret’s professional community and Lower School students on her work developing mindful practices, living a life of balance, and the benefits of meditation in young students.

During her meeting with Lower School students in the Chapel, she offered a few breathing techniques and meditation practices. As a child, she said her father often asked her to consider “Who am I? What do I want? How can I serve? What am I grateful for?”

Ms. Chopra is the daughter of noted author and activist Deepak Chopra, who introduced her to meditation at a young age. She noted that meditation is about quieting the mind, while mindfulness is about being aware of our surroundings.
