Tartan Cheerleaders Host Special Camp At Fun-Filled Cheer Clinic

St. Margaret's cheerleading squad and six campers united in cheering on the girls basketball team.
St. Margaret's winter cheerleading team received some extra support at Thursday's girls basketball game, hosting members of the Special Camp community as honorary cheerleaders.

The event was organized by freshman Sophie Spalding and the Tartan cheer program, initiating a service project to include special-needs students in a fun and exciting evening. The team and Special Camp members joined for an afternoon of fun; practicing cheers, learning a dance, playing games and sharing a meal – followed by cheering at the first half of a girls varsity basketball game. At halftime, all of the participants were honored and recognized by the girls basketball team and fans in attendance.

"The energy and excitement were palpable – we had such a wonderful time cheering on the Tartans together," said head cheerleading coach Kylie Middlebrook. "This has become a new tradition for our winter cheerleaders for sure!"
