The publication works in partnership with the Orange County Department of Education to recognize Orange County’s talented arts students.
St. Margaret’s had 11 nominees in various artistic categories in the Orange CountyRegister’s 2019 Artist of the Year program.
The publication works in partnership with the Orange County Department of Education to recognize Orange County’s talented arts students. A total of 507 students were nominated from 88 Orange County high schools in the fields of theater, dance, film, vocal music, instrumental music, 2D visual arts and 3D visual arts. Once nominated, the students submitted an application that included videos of performances, samples of artwork and reflection about their work as artists.

A panel of arts educators will narrow down the list and choose semifinalists in each discipline to move on to a round of in-person interviews. The semifinalists will be announced on Sundays beginning March 31. The top artist of the year for each discipline will be announced April 21.
