US Play Performance

Performing Arts Center - McGregor Family Theater - 1047
The Fall 2022 US Play is The Importance of Being Earnest directed by Darcy Rice. Oscar Wilde’s superb satire on Victorian manners is one of the funniest plays in the English language – the delightful repartee and hilarious piercing of hypocrisy and pomposity will make you laugh out loud! In the 1890’s London, two friends use the same pseudonym (“Ernest”) for their on-the-sly, which is fine until they both fall in love with the same women using that name, which leads to a comedy of mistaken identities. This play is rated PG. Running time: 2.5 hours with 2 intermissions.
