Tartan Seniors Celebrated for Their Pursuit of the Arts in College

Alex Kim and Els Page were honored this week at Upper School Convocation. These talented students have been a part of St. Margaret’s arts programs for a number of years, and will continue studying their specialty after their time at St. Margaret’s.

 

Director of the Arts, Dan Pacheco, remarked on their dedication and accomplishments, “The Arts at St. Margaret’s would like to recognize students who have maintained their commitment to an arts discipline throughout their time here and are committed to pursue this art discipline at the university level for the next four years. This is an extraordinary achievement to be accepted to these schools to continue their arts education.”

 

The students recognized were Alex Kim and Els Page.

 

Alex Kim, who plans to attend Stanford University and will be studying music.

 

Choral Director, Adela Kwan shared affirming words about Alex Kim: “Auditioning for music schools is an arduous process. The music world is small and highly competitive which makes Alex’s acceptance into Stanford and its cutting-edge music program pretty darn thrilling.”

 

Els Page, who plans to attend Belmont University and will study audio engineering and songwriting.

 

Chris Carbajal, band director, described Els Page many accomplishments: “Els has written his own music and produced soundtracks for his peers. He was instrumental in suggesting that a senior number be included in the Tartan Revue which will now be a part of the programs for the future.”
