Tartan Swimmers Zoe Reynolds and Heidi Tufo Represent Well at Orange County Invitational

Both athletes had great showings this past weekend.
St. Margaret's swimming and diving team members Zoe Reynolds and Heidi Tufo represented the Tartans at the Orange County Championship Swim Invitational, hosted by JSerra on March 22-23. The two-day invitational meet involved more than 200 student-athletes from public and private schools in Orange County.

Reynolds, who swam in the 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly events, and Tufo, swimming in the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly events, both qualified on Friday for the championship final in each of their events. Reynolds put on an extraordinary performance, shattering the St. Margaret's school record in the butterfly with a time of 1:00.44!

Saturday morning rain gave way to afternoon sun just in time for the championship events. Reynolds and Tufo raced fast and dropped additional time in their individual events. Ultimately, Reynolds finished third in the 200 IM and fifth in the 100 butterfly. Tufo also medaled with a third-place finish in the 50 freestyle and an eighth-place finish in the 100 butterfly.

Notably, Tufo also competed for St. Margaret's surf team earlier in the morning, finishing sixth overall in the girls longboard division of the Scholastic Surf Series Final.

Congratulations, Tartans!
