Lower School’s 101 Dalmatians Musical Brings A Howling Good Time to the Community

Lower School students presented 101 Dalmatians, delighting audiences in nine performances of the sold out shows in the McGregor Family Theater.
A cast of more than 80 Lower School students in grades 2 and 3 presented 101 Dalmatians, delighting audiences in nine performances of the sold out shows in the McGregor Family Theater. This captivating musical, directed by Katie DeShan,  was based on the Disney movie featuring popular characters including Cruella De Vil, the Dogs of London, and all of the corgis, boxers, dalmatians and more.

The cast and crew displayed their passion for the performing arts. According to director Katie DeShan, “All three casts sparkled so brightly during their shows. Their hard work was so evident and audiences all came away with a huge smile on their faces.”

This production’s success includes the entertaining numbers by Musical Director and Choreographer Zach Hanna. In addition, a team of talented theater arts technical students who built and painted the set were also stars of the show. Middle School students Chase Cunningham (stage manager), and Mika Kim (assistant stage manager) were on deck to support communication, oversee sets, props, lights, sound, and cues during performances.

After the successful final performances, each cast enjoyed a cupcake party in the Arts plaza to sign show posters and thank the directors and production team who brought the show to the stage.
