Tartan Volleyball Programs Continue to Roll
St. Margaret's has found success on the court and the sand this spring.
St. Margaret's boys volleyball and girls beach volleyball programs have hit the ground running this season and brought home two victories this week.
Boys Volleyball
The Tartans stuffed Saddleback High 3-0 Thursday evening in a crucial Orange Coast League contest at home.
Beckett Harvey led the Tartans with 10 kills on 11 attempts, maintaining a stellar 90% hitting efficiency in the win. Miles Eaton added 4 kills on 5 attempts, Reed Wainwright notched 9 kills, and Dylan Otto generated 4 ace serves for St. Margaret's.
"I was pleased we played an efficient and clean game against Saddleback," said head coach Bob Yoder. "Our continuing improvement and production in the middle attack is especially encouraging."
The Tartans will next face league opponent Costa Mesa on Monday, March 11, at 5:00 p.m.
Girls Beach Volleyball
The Tartans kept their unbeaten streak alive, downing Costa Mesa 5-0 on Thursday.
St. Margaret's pairs dominated all afternoon with Sarah MacDonald/Ella Massoudi (21-11, 21-19), Carly Hermann/Chloe Wainwright (21-9, 21-12), Emma Kim/Mimi Spangler (13-21, 21-12, 15-2), Peyton Cruse/Amaya Christensen (21-0, 21-9) and Gabby Eifrig/Ana Cormac (21-13, 21-12) all notching victories.
St. Margaret's returns to the sand to take on Calvary Chapel Santa Ana on Tuesday, March 12.
