St. Margaret's Boys Volleyball Team Downs Northwood 3-1

The Tartans persevered to nip the Timberwolves Tuesday.
The Tartan boys volleyball program picked up a preseason win, defeating Northwood High School 3-1 at home Tuesday evening.

The team has had a full schedule, playing two matches a day over the last four days before meeting Northwood in non-league action. Reed Wainwright was the kill leader with 25, while Luke Balint notched 10 kills and had a solid efficiency of .368 against the Timberwolves. Beckett Harvey added 6 kills out of the middle, hitting a strong .417.

"We were a little ‘match weary’ from playing two matches a day last Friday, Saturday, and Monday," said head coach Bob Yoder. "I was pleased to see the team come back from a deficit in set 2 and bounce back strong from the loss of set 3 to finish the match."

The Tartans take on Irvine High on the road this Thursday, Feb. 29, at 5:45 p.m.
