Tartans in the News: Professional Community Members Spotlighted for Academics, Service and Leadership

St. Margaret’s professional community has received recognition both locally and nationally for their expertise and service to the community in recent months. Here are a few notable achievements:

 

 

St. Margaret’s Head of School Jeneen Graham was recognized by the Orange County Register as one of Orange County’s 125 most influential people for 2023.

 

Dr. Graham, who became St. Margaret’s fifth Head of School in July, joined a list of notable and influential people in a variety of fields including education, business, athletics, medicine and philanthropy. You can read the entire list at this link.

 

 

Special Camp and its executive director, Lindsay Eres, were recognized by Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley for fostering a safe and welcoming environment for youth with special needs.

 

Mrs. Eres, who also serves as an Upper School dean and assistant girls basketball coach, has been executive director of Special Camp since 2008. Special Camp is a summer camp program sponsored and hosted by St. Margaret’s for children, teens and young adults with disabilities.

 

 

St. Margaret’s Early School Director Cris Lozon and atelierista Jennifer Hardison were published in the International Journal of the Whole Child, collaborating on a STEAM-related piece on the science of sand and water as tools for scientific inquiry in young children.

St. Margaret’s academic research technologist and Upper School Library teacher Stacey von Winckelmann was published in Information and Learning Sciences, a peer-reviewed journal which released a special issue on student data privacy. Dr. von Winckelmann’s article was a condensed version of her dissertation study titled “Predictive algorithms and racial bias: A qualitative descriptive study on the perceptions of algorithm accuracy in higher education” and was one of just six articles included in the issue.
