Tartan Golfers Gabby Eifrig and Annie Weng Qualify for SCGA Regional Championship

The Tartan duo faced off against 120 of the top golfers in CIF Southern Section.
Senior Gabby Eifrig and freshman Annie Weng competed at the CIF-SS Individual Championship and SCGA Qualifier tournament Thursday at Tukwet Canyon in Beaumont and punched their ticket to SCGA Southern State Regional Championship on Nov. 9.

Eifrig and Weng both had early hiccups at the onset of play. However, Weng was able to string together four birdies across her round, while Eifrig notched two birdies to put both golfers back into contention. In the end, Eifrig finished with a 74 (+2), with Weng playing to a 78 (+6), avoiding a playoff and advancing to the Regional Championship.

By qualifying, Eifrig became the first player ever in St. Margaret's history to advance to the SCGA Regional twice, and Weng became only the fourth player in school history to qualify.
