St. Margaret's Girls Tennis Tames Lions 11-7

The Tartans bested non-league foe JSerra on Wednesday.
The Tartan girls tennis program notched a huge win Wednesday, downing JSerra Catholic High School 11-7 at Saddleback College.

Angela Liu won all three of her singles sets, and Kate Purpura and Emily Kim won two out of their three three singles sets. The doubles team of Fiona Bonilla Duncan and Allie Dandel won two of three doubles sets.

"It was a great team effort beating JSerra. We talked about this match being a good test of our level heading into playoffs, and the girls really stepped up and played well," said head coach Scott Lipsky. "I am excited about what comes next for the team as we wrap up the regular season on Oct. 19."

The Tartans will face off against league opponent Calvary Chapel Santa Ana on Thursday, Oct. 19, before participating in the Orange Coast League Tournament beginning on Oct. 25.
