Girls Volleyball Tames Mustangs 3-1

The Tartans opened league play with a win against visiting Costa Mesa.
St. Margaret's girls volleyball program picked up a league win against Costa Mesa High School Thursday at home, downing the Mustangs 3-1 (25-18, 25-20, 23-25, 25-21).
 
The Tartans were led by Carly Grumet's 13 kills and 5 digs, and were supported by Ella Massoudi (8k, 7d), Sarah Macdonald (5 aces) Mimi Spangler (36 asissts), Maya Reddy (7k, 4ba), Carly Hermann (14d), Emerson Tingler (14d), and Chloe Wainwright (7k, 2d).

"It was great to start the league with a win against a vastly improved and well-coached Costa Mesa team," said head coach Bob Yoder. "The team is improving week to week and match to match. It's a nicely balanced group with 3 freshmen, 4 sophomores, 3 juniors and 3 seniors."
 
With the win, the Tartans improve to 1-3 (1-0 league) and will participate in the Portola Tournament this weekend.
