The athletic department at St. Margaret’s is central to our mission and integral to the learning process. As an extension of the classroom, our athletic teams are committed to remaining at the forefront of innovation and progressive leadership so that our student-athletes may achieve at the highest possible level.
Providing a leading athletic experience and utilizing cutting edge technology is vital to enhancing the performance and safety of our athletes. Video analysis platforms, individualized heart rate monitors, impact sensors, baseline concussion testing software, and cloud-based sport performance data tracking are utilized daily for advanced performance analytics to help manage the stress, recovery and training of our student-athletes.
From Lower School through Upper School, students are provided meaningful opportunities to grow through participation in athletics. Competitive opportunities start with our 12 middle school sports. Practices take place during the school day, allowing students to continue their athletic development in their various outside training and club programs. Our middle school teams are coached by our on-site Upper School coaches and personal fitness and wellness teachers, providing athletic mentorship and relationships to start at an early age. We value the fostering of trusted relationships with our coaches and educators to optimize the physical and mental development of our student-athletes.
St. Margaret’s
coaching staff brings former professional and collegiate player experience and years of coaching and training at high levels to our athletic teams. Our commitment to excellence extends far beyond athletic development and embraces the power that athletics has in providing an environment where students can practice perseverance, sharpen problem-solving skills, and engage in collaboration and character-building.
We honor and value our student-athletes and take great pride in our athletic success. But above all, we build our programs upon a foundation of character development, modeling behavior, and the formation of a healthy lifestyle as we prepare our students for lives of learning, leadership, and service.
