Girls Varsity Basketball Captures Liberty Christian Tournament Championship

The Tartans were undefeated on the road to the championship.
The Girls Varsity Basketball team has started the season going 4-0 and taking home the first place trophy in the Liberty Christian Tournament.

The team earned solid victories in pool play against Magnolia, Century City and Calvary Chapel Santa Ana despite playing shorthanded. The Tartans drew Capistrano Valley Christian in the championship game and came away with a 67-26 victory. Mandy Taylor was a force underneath grabbing 21 rebounds while Sammy Haft contributed on the offensive side with 14 points. Alice Korolev came out shooting and knocked down ten shots from the outside scoring 21 points which earned her a spot on the All-Tournament team. Stephanie Amoukhteh also earned an All-Tournament medal for her strong play throughout the entire week. Niki Miles was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament as she stepped into her new role of point guard to lead the team in points, steals and assists.

St. Margaret's will face off against Pacifica Christian on Tuesday to attempt to go 5-0 before heading into the Thanksgiving break.
