‘We Are in the Presence of Greatness!’ -- St. Margaret’s Welcomes Home Faculty Emeriti at Joyous All-School Eucharist
St. Margaret’s rich history was celebrated and very special Tartans were honored during the annual St. Margaret’s Day All-School Eucharist.
“We are in the presence of greatness!” Head of School Will Moseley exclaimed, as St. Margaret’s rich history was celebrated and very special Tartans were honored during the annual St. Margaret’s Day All-School Eucharist.
The school welcomed home and honored its esteemed Faculty Emeriti, and all 10 living Faculty Emeriti were in attendance. In addition, two former headmasters, Markham Campaigne (1986-2003) and Marcus Hurlbut (2003-2013) attended.
Faculty Emeritus is the highest honor St. Margaret’s bestows on a faculty member or administrator with an historic record of exceptional, meritorious service.
“As we approach our school’s 40th birthday, we wanted to honor not only our namesake Queen Margaret and our founder Father Sillers, but also those very special faculty members who have given decades of their life to our school. We would not be the school that we are today without our amazing Faculty Emeriti, many of whom were here from the very beginning,” Head of School Will Moseley said.
“The group before you is truly grace and love personified,” he added. “They have modeled our namesake Queen Margaret of Scotland’s life of service and fulfilled our mission to educate the hearts and minds of young people for lives of learning, leadership and service.
“May we learn from all of these incredible individuals and their lifetime of commitment, character, grace and unconditional love for the Tartan and the Cross.”
The Faculty Emeriti in attendance included:
Mrs. Ingrid Andrews, Retired Preschool Director
Mrs. Marilynn Boyle, Retired Middle School Teacher
Mrs. Robyn Hamilton, Retired Lower School Teacher
Mrs. Diane Hawkins, Retired Lower School Teacher
Mrs. Anne Kemp, Retired Lower School Teacher
Mrs. Kathy Leedom, Retired Middle School Teacher
Mrs. Barbara Nelson, Retired Visual Arts Teacher
Mrs. Jody Prichard, Retired Preschool Director
Mrs. Margy Risner, Retired Lower School Teacher
