St. Margaret's defense controlled the tempo and added two scores in the win.
The Tartans took on The Webb School in a San Joaquin League matchup on Friday night, downing the Gauls 42-21. With the win, St. Margaret's improves to 2-0 in league.
The Tartan defense set St. Margaret's up for success all evening, contributing two defensive touchdowns. Nick Falshaw and Alex Smith each returned an interception for a touchdown while Langston Sholl had five tackles, one assist, two sacks and two tackles for losses. Koa Todd was superb at the linebacking position, providing eight tackles and one sack.
Offensively, quarterback James Mott threw for 107 yards with two rushing touchdowns. Matthew Stevenson added a score out of the backfield while rushing for 79 yards on 17 attempts.
The special team units were productive as usual for the Tartans. Alex Smith had a 22-yard punt return for a touchdown while kicker Chris Vartanian was six for six on PAT's and had six touchbacks on the night.
St. Margaret's will close out the San Joaquin League schedule against Saddleback Valley Christian on Thursday, October 25 at Laguna Hills High School at 7 p.m.
