Beach Volleyball Hall of Famer Brent Frohoff Named as Head Boys Volleyball Coach

Frohoff, a 2008 Beach Volleyball Hall of Fame inductee, has been appointed the head coach of the Tartan boys volleyball program.
St. Margaret's is pleased to announce the hiring of Brent Frohoff as head boys volleyball coach.

Brent Frohoff played professional beach volleyball for more than 18 years, winning 19 titles. In the 1980s, Frohoff and Scott Ayakatubby competed as one of the top teams on the AVP Beach Volleyball Tour. In 1989, Frohoff teamed up with beach volleyball legend, current U.S Women's National Volleyball Team head coach and former St. Margaret's head coach Karch Kiraly, winning nine Opens including the 1990 Manhattan Beach Open. In 2008, Frohoff was named to the Beach Volleyball Hall of Fame.

A California native, Frohoff attended Mira Costa High School, earning 1st Team All-CIF Honors before moving on to San Diego State and Loyola Marymount University. Frohoff has coached beach and indoor volleyball at the 16's level for the Laguna Beach Volleyball Club.

Frohoff replaces Jeremy Dailey, who will remain with the boys volleyball program as an assistant coach.

“Coach Dailey has done a remarkable job with the program, as evidenced by the program advancing to the CIF Semifinals five of the past six years. But his contributions to the entire school community are equally impressive, and we fully support his expanded role in the Counseling Department and the pursuit of a Ph.D.," said Director of Athletics and Physical Education, Patrick Bendzick. "Every change in life provides an opportunity to improve. The boys volleyball program already operates at a very high standard, but the addition of Brent Frohoff will most certainly be a catalyst for the continued evolution. He has played at an elite level and worked with some of the best volleyball players in the world. That depth of experience is invaluable, and we are very fortunate to have him join the St. Margaret’s family.”

Coach Jeremy Dailey said of the hire: “We are excited to bring someone with Brent’s experience to further the success that the boys’ volleyball program has consistently achieved over the past decade. I’ve known Brent for many years, and he was the first person who came to mind in regards to making this a smooth transition, as well as continually working to improve the program. My dedication to the team will not change, as I will continue to serve as an assistant coach.”
