Upper School Arts Banquet Recognizes Achievement and Service

Arts faculty presented several awards, and honored several students for their dedication, service and achievements to the arts at St. Margaret’s. 
The 2018 Upper School Arts Banquet on May 22 recognized achievement, excellence and service in the arts.
 
Arts faculty presented several awards, and honored several students for their dedication, service and achievements to the arts at St. Margaret’s. They included:
 
-  Sophomore Avery Clarke’s 3D acrylic sculpture “Whirlwind” was the Illumination Award winner, and the artwork will be on permanent display in the Performing Arts Center.

-  
The department also honored the longtime contributions of Melinda Keane with the creation of the Melinda Keane Costume Studio Awards of Excellence in Hair and Makeup Design, Wardrobe Assistant and Costume Creation. The perennial plaque retroactively honored Natalie Eidt ’15 for her contributions. This year’s honoree was Jadie Pruitt.

-  The Cappies Critics team was recognized for their work throughout the year, and Elena Plumb was named lead critic for 2018-2019 with Caroline Ullem named assistant lead critic. In addition, Upper School teacher Beth Clemmons was recognized for her years of commitment as a mentor with the Cappies program.

-  Special thanks was also given to PTF Arts Alliance Chair Valerie Jones, Assistant Johanna Cunningham and Arts Banquet chair Jennifer Arundale.
 
The Visual Arts and Performing Arts faculty also recognized seniors who have made a commitment to pursuing the Arts during their Upper School years beyond the one-year requirement:
