Middle School Athletics Wraps Up Exciting Year

With 42 teams and more than 275 Middle School students competing in the 11 sports offered through three seasons, it certainly was a full schedule of exciting events.
St. Margaret’s Middle School athletic teams were once again a formidable force throughout the year in the South County leagues, at the invitational cross-country and track meets as well as on the links. With 42 teams and more than 275 Middle School students competing in the 11 sports offered through three seasons, it certainly was a full schedule of exciting events.

There were many highlights throughout this year but a few that stand out among the more than 350 games and meets were;

  • Seven league championships;
  • The girls Mountain A Volleyball team overcoming a defeat in the semifinal P.A.L playoff game to persevere in the competitive third-place game;
  • The always fun and competitive games between SMES teams during C and G Block;
  • The “A” soccer team battling to the very end of a tough championship game;
  • The golf team took their driving, chipping and putting skills to the links and had fun playing a few rounds and honing skills at the driving range.
  • The lacrosse teams continued to build a great foundation that carries all the way to the success of our high school programs.
  • The track & field team closed the books on the 2017-18 school year with a strong performance at the P.A.L. championship track meet.
