Boys Volleyball Brings Home Bishop Diego Tournament Title

The Tartans defeated Campbell Hall in the tournament final.
The St. Margaret's boys volleyball took part in the Bishop Diego High School Volleyball Tournament this past weekend in Santa Barbara, defeating Campbell Hall in the finals. The Tartans, who were 2-1 in pool play, defeated Bishop Diego 2-0 and Laguna Blanca School 2-0 before losing to Campbell Hall 0-2. Moving into the finals, The Tartans got their revenge, downing Campbell Hall 25-14 and 25-23 to claim the tournament title.

The Tartans were led by Ethan Hill (23 kills), Tyler Aitken (18 kills), Lewis Smith (15 kills) and Cameron Dosanjh (13 kills). Gavin Clarke was key in running a well-balanced offense for the Tartans.

Senior Tyler Aitken remarked about the team trip, "I’ve never felt the same sense of togetherness and team unity in all my years of playing volleyball."

The Tartans put together a total team effort to come out on top in the tournament. “We are not relying on one player; rather we have a group of guys who are willing to step up when needed and that’s what led to our tournament victory on Saturday,” said head coach Jeremy Dailey.

The Tartans return to Orange County and begin Academy League play this Tuesday, March 13 on the road against Brethren Christian.
