More than 330 members of the St. Margaret’s community gathered at The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach for a night of fun, friendship and generous support of St. Margaret’s Episcopal School, its students and programs.
The 2018 all-school fundraiser Forever Plaid: La Belle Époque welcomed more than 330 members of the St. Margaret’s community to The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach last weekend for a night of fun, friendship and generous support of St. Margaret’s Episcopal School, its students and programs.

Set against a French backdrop featuring replica Eiffel Towers and hot air balloons, more than 250 items donated by St. Margaret’s families were displayed for auction and bid on by current parents, alumni, past parents, faculty and staff in attendance. In addition, attendees pledged support toward this year’s Fund A Need, an initiative to upgrade STEAM facilities and curriculum to keep pace with innovation and student demand.

“La Belle Époque was a wonderful event. We are deeply grateful to PTF President Marina Goffredo and Event Chairs Jennifer Barber and Dana Melsom for their leadership and vision, and for the entire community of PTF volunteers who made the night such an extraordinary celebration,” Head of School Will Moseley said. “The breadth of support that was demonstrated toward our school and students was inspiring, and we are tremendously thankful for the trusting partnership, generosity and support we receive from the community.”

The program started with a blessing by The Reverend Linda Ahron and a welcome toast by President of the Board of Trustees Jason Weiss and Mr. Moseley. Mr. Weiss and Mr. Moseley also recognized and thanked event co-chairs Mrs. Barber and Mrs. Melsom, as well as Ms. Goffredo, for their tireless efforts organizing the event.

After a wonderful dinner and successful live and silent auctions, Elevated Pulse put on a festive performance as DJ while attendees danced the night away.

“La Belle Époque was a tremendous evening, and there are so many people responsible for its success,” PTF president Marina Goffredo said. “Our event co-chairs Jennifer Barber and Dana Melsom did such a great job in all aspects of organizing this incredible event, with the help from many parent volunteers who dedicated their time and energy toward this night. And of course, we are so grateful to the attendees who showed their unwavering support of St. Margaret’s and our children.”

Forever Plaid: La Belle Époque owes its success to the many generous donations from families, friends and corporate sponsors alike. A thank you also goes out to the committee of volunteers and staff who worked tirelessly to allow the event to run smoothly.  View all of the volunteers, sponsors and underwriters by clicking here.
