Girls Soccer Moves on to CIF-SS Semifinals, Senior Lauren McCaffrey Named O.C. Varsity Athlete of the Week

The Tartans upended Montclair High School 3-0 on Friday led by O.C. Varsity Athlete of the Week Lauren McCaffrey.
St. Margaret's notched its third shutout of the playoffs, blanking Montclair High School 3-0, behind the stellar defensive efforts of goalkeeper Kennedy Barlow and defenseman Lauren McCaffrey. The Tartan scoring was provided by Juliet Ballard, Ella Kang and Lauren Otterbein. The Tartans have held opponents scoreless in the last eight contests and recorded 22 shutouts so far this season.

St. Margaret’s (20-5-0) will travel to match up against Paloma Valley High School (22-0-3) in CIF-SS Div. 4 Semifinal action on Tuesday, February 27 at 5 p.m.

For her defensive efforts last week, Lauren McCaffrey has been named O.C. Varsity Girls Soccer Athlete of the Week. A senior and a captain, Lauren has been a stalwart for the Tartans on defense. Lauren will attend and play soccer at Northwestern University next fall.
