St. Margaret's Surf Team Picks up First Win of Season

The Tartans out-surfed the El Toro Chargers this past Sunday at 9th Street Beach in Huntington Beach.
St. Margaret's surf team started the 2017-2018 Scholastic Surf Series season in winning fashion with a 48-11 victory over El Toro High School on Sunday, October 22. Conditions at 9th Street Beach in Huntington Beach were 6-foot-plus and primed for great surfing.

Sophomore Jake Vandenberg brought home first prize in short board and placed third in the longboard competition while senior Ayla Fox captured second in both short board and longboard categories. Sophomore Johnny Kurtz finished third in body board for the Tartans.

St. Margaret's will continue in Scholastic Surf Series competition on Saturday, January 7 at Golden West St.
