PTF Library Luncheon Celebrates Its Heritage

The event returned to its roots at a home of a St. Margaret's family, raising money for the Library and PTF Grant Enrichment programs.
Nearly 330 St. Margaret’s parents and friends gathered last week in the San Juan Capistrano home of St. Margaret’s family the Mays to celebrate the 36th annual PTF Library Luncheon. Themed “All Things Tradition,” the event celebrated the heritage of one of the school’s most cherished events.

Chaired and hosted by Kasia Mays, along with co-chairs Susan Beall and Liana Miller, the Library Luncheon’s festivities focused on what the St. Margaret’s community values most: the spirit of fellowship and support of exceptional academic programs for students. Guests mingled in the Mays’ beautiful gardens, browsing the boutique raffle and silent auction tables. Guests also had the opportunity to purchase tickets for the tuition opportunity drawing, as well as drop a ticket into the special Lugano Diamonds raffle featuring a gorgeous tennis bracelet.

Through the Giving Tree, guests also were able to support Library programs and special learning initiatives by donating specifically in support of suggested books, technology resources, storytellers, subscriptions and other needed donations.

Beautifully decorated tables dotted the lower lawn with sweeping views of San Juan Capistrano. Each table honored a past Library Luncheon theme from “Teatime in Wonderland” to “Ladies at the Derby,” “For the Love of Art,” to traditions at St. Margaret’s like the Tartan Trot and celebrating our seniors.

A special tribute was paid to three special women in attendance: Mary Ann Campaigne, Pat Hurlbut and Jenny Moseley, all whom embody unconditional dedication to the St. Margaret’s community. Mrs. Campaigne blessed the meal with a circle of prayer.

This year’s Library Luncheon returned to its roots by taking place in the home of a Tartan family. The Mays residence served as a perfect location for the beloved event.

“It was an honor to host this year’s Library Luncheon, adding to the legacy of this amazing St. Margaret’s tradition,” said Kasia Mays.  “I want to thank my co-chairs and the talented women who served as the day’s table hostesses. I would like to also give gratitude to all of those who gave so generously their time, talent and resources to ensure that we continue to educate the hearts and minds of young people, not just today but into the future, for lives of leadership, learning and service.”

“On behalf of the PTF, we offer our sincere gratitude to Kasia Mays for opening her beautiful home for one of our most beloved PTF traditions,” PTF President Pam Cruse said. “Her tireless work, beautiful vision and impeccable attention to every detail made this year’s Library Luncheon so very special. It was a wonderful time and an amazing success due to her countless contributions.”

“We are so very grateful to the PTF, to Pam Cruse and the entire team, especially our gracious Hostess and Chair Kasia Mays,” said Head of School Will Moseley. “What an amazing afternoon of fellowship and love for our St. Margaret’s school. The time and thoughtful dedication to carrying forward one of St. Margaret’s most treasured traditions was felt by all. Thank you to all our parents and friends who attended and were a part of this special day. “

The PTF would also like to thank event underwriters and boutique donors, including: Baccarat, Body by Orangetwist, CHANEL, David Yurman, House of Sillage, Irena Wilczkiewicz, Jean Arundale, Jocelyn and John White, Kasia Mays, Lugano Diamonds, Montage Laguna Beach, Mr. G’s Bistro, Pamela Cruse, The Resort at Pelican Hill, Sapphire and Laura Ghahreman, South Coast Plaza, Stacy and Bradley Barlow, Susan and Robert Beall, Tanya Taylor, TOD’S and Voluspa. And, special gratitude goes out to the tireless efforts of both PTF Office Manager Beth Adamany and the Parent Teacher Fellowship volunteers who so generously give their time.

Thanks to the generosity of the St. Margaret’s community, more than $93,000 was raised to benefit the Library and the PTF Grant Enrichment programs.

“We have created a new bar of generosity as it relates to this event,” Kasia Mays said. “On behalf of the entire school we share with you our deep joy and our thanks cannot be overstated enough.”
