Tartan Divisions Unite at St. Mary’s Invitational Track Meet

The Lower School, Middle School and Upper School all came together in competition at the St. Mary's Invitational Track Meet.
The St. Margaret’s track & field team fully embraced the concept of “team” this past Saturday as the Lower School, Middle School and Upper School all came together in competition at the St. Mary's Invitational. Tartan athletes found success and earned medals in a wide variety of events, but what was truly impactful was seeing grade 1 students hold the hands of seniors as they walked to the clerk of the course together.

As part of their service to the school, the Upper School track & field team attended the meet to help out in any way possible. What emerged was not just a service project but an experience that won’t soon be forgotten.

“We believe that the best role models for our younger students are our older students,” Mike Allison said. “Similarly, it’s always healthy for Upper School students to see that they are role models and act accordingly. There is no doubt that not only did the track & field team do well on Saturday, but a bridge within our community was further solidified as we unified three divisions of the school.”
