Connor Jordan, Hana Adams Honored by OC Varsity Arts

The two received honorable mentions in the OC Varsity Arts 2017 Artist of the Year selections at a ceremony in Costa Mesa.
St. Margaret’s senior Connor Jordan and junior Hana Adams both received honorable mentions in the OC Varsity Arts 2017 Artist of the Year selections.

Connor was honored in 3D art for his portfolio that included life-size plaster cast hands and miniature 3D-printed humans that interact. Hana was recognized in dance, for her performances in contemporary, modern, lyrical, ballet, jazz, hip hop and Broadway as well as choreography. She performed two self-choreographed dances for OC Varsity Arts judges.

Previously, Connor and Hana were chosen as one of 10 finalists, along with junior Danielle Drislane (2D visual arts) and senior Emily Van Duinen (dance). The four then presented (or performed) their work in front of judges, and answered questions about the meaning behind their art. From there, judges picked one winner and two honorable mentions in each category.

A total of 407 students in the county were nominated in seven different categories.
Connor and Hana were recognized last week at a ceremony at the Orange County Department of Education in Costa Mesa.
