St. Margaret's Baseball Gets Major League Win at Angel Stadium

With an eight-run first inning, the Tartans soundly beat Saddleback Valley Christian at Angels Stadium.
A huge offensive first inning for the Tartans led to a 13-2 non-league victory for the Tartans on Wednesday against cross-town rival Saddleback Valley Christian. Doing it at Angel Stadium in Anaheim made it all the more sweeter.

The Tartans were led by senior Auston Locke (2 triples, 3 RBI), who had a bases-loaded triple in the first-inning offensive explosion, and freshman Wesley Kim (2 hits, 4 RBI). Senior Logan Smith recorded the win on the mound for the Tartans, and junior Braydon Cancellieri notched the three-inning save with no runs allowed.

The Tartan defense was stingy all game, holding the Warriors to one earned run and committing only one error.

"We are a fun team to watch play right now," said St. Margaret's baseball coach Scott Wallis. "The guys are competing and have a belief that they can win every game they play. The next four league games are against Crean Lutheran next week and Sage Hill the week after. That'll be a real test for us. "
