St. Margaret’s Students Lead OC Schools in Regional Scholastic Art Awards—See the Winners!
Tartans took home 94 art awards including 12 Gold Keys, 39 Silver Keys and 43 honorable mentions in the West Coast Regional At-Large division.
St. Margaret’s students had one of their most successful showings yet in the 2017 Regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, taking home 94 art awards including 12 Gold Keys, 39 Silver Keys and 43 honorable mentions in the West Coast Regional At-Large division. In all, nine students were recognized with Gold Keys, including and impressive four by junior Danielle Drislane in three different categories—two in digital art and one each in painting and drawing & illustration.
Other Tartans winning Gold Keys were junior Hana Adams (photography), senior Connor Jordan (sculpture), senior Makenna Mitchell (photography), sophomore Lauren Otterbein (photography), junior Elizabeth Plummer (photography), junior Keilani Snyder (photography), senior Charles Toney (ceramics & glass) and grade 8 student Madye Arundale (film animation).

The 12 Gold Key winners will be forwarded for judging in the national competition. Last year, two Tartans received national recognition—McKinley McQuaide (gold, sculpture) and Nick Williams (silver, sculpture).
