Middle School Girls Basketball Captures League Title

A fun, exciting and undefeated season for the Mountain “A” Girls Basketball team culminated in a league championship.
With a 23-20 win over St. Mary’s this week, the Mountain “A” girls basketball team secured the Mountain "A" League title and preserved the Tartans’ undefeated season.

Expectations for the team were high to start the season with a group of girls who had experience and some good size on their side. After a solid road win against a tough St. Junipero Serra team early in the schedule, the girls had the confidence and set their sights on a league title. With unselfish play and great leadership from the more experienced girls, the team knew they had two more tough games against St. Mary’s, who also were undefeated up until that point.

With outstanding shooting and tough rebounding on the boards, the Tartans came away with a very satisfying 10-point victory. Not wanting to settle for a potential first-place tie, the team took care of business on the road against a very motivated St. Mary’s team with a 23-20 win to end their season 8-0 and with the Mountain “A” League title. It was an awesome victory to end a season that began with high hopes, and it lived up to every one of them! Congratulations Tartans!
