Brethren Christian Needs Two Overtimes to Down Tartans

The Warriors defeated St. Margaret's 50-49 for the first time since 2004.
Brethren Christian negated a 15 point deficit in the second half and battled the Tartans to two overtimes before converting a two-point conversion for the win at Tartan Field on Friday Night. The 8-1 Warriors traded scores with the Tartans in the overtime periods before scoring on a fake extra-point attempt.

Tartan Quarterback George Krantz was 20/38 passing, with 188 yds and two touchdowns. Krantz also added two rushing touchdowns. Running back Nick Krantz had 118 yards rushing with one touchdown. Ryan Cragun led the St. Margaret's receiving core with ten catches for 114 yards and three touchdowns as Auston Locke pulled in seven receptions for 68 yards. Locke also connected with Cragun for an 85-yard touchdown strike.

Defensively, Nick Falshaw led with seven tackles while James Eidt and Duke Ballard added a sack apiece. Brandon Wu, Ryan Cragun and Michael Chew all had interceptions in the loss.

Widely panned as one of the most exciting football games in Orange County Friday night, both teams left it all on the field.

The Tartans return to action Friday, November 4 against Crean Lutheran. The Saints handed St. Margaret's a late season loss in 2015.
