St. Margaret's Student-Athletes Commit to Top Colleges During Winter Signing Period

Nine student-athletes from the Class of 2023 committed to continue their academic careers and play intercollegiate athletics during the winter signing period.
St. Margaret's Episcopal School is pleased to announce that nine student-athletes from the Class of 2023 have committed to play intercollegiate athletics next year during the winter National Signing Day. Seniors Owen Binder, Keegan Carnell, Sam Dunnell, Audrey Harrington, Liesel Blau, Andrew Miehe, Brady Moseley, Eileen Sadati and Jack Stahl will continue their academic pursuits and play their respective sports at an impressive group of colleges and universities.

These student-athletes join five of their classmates who committed during the signing period in the fall.
 
Owen Binder, Dickinson College
 
Owen Binder, a 2022 second-team All-CIF selection in lacrosse, has committed to study and play lacrosse at NCAA Division-III Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa.
 
Owen is a mainstay for the Tartan lacrosse program and also a member of St. Margaret's football team. At the club lacrosse level, Owen has been named an Under Armour All-American in 2020, a three-time selection for the National All-Star Games Pacific South West Team in 2020, 2021 and 2022 and has been a member of West Coast Starz 2023 Gold, Mad Dog 2023 National Team and Fellowship of Christian Athletes National Team.
 
Owen intends to major in business at Dickinson.
 
Keegan Carnell, Tufts University
 
Keegan Carnell, a two-year captain of the St. Margaret's golf team, has committed to study and play golf at NCAA Division-III Tufts University in Medford, Mass.
 
Keegan most recently placed fourth at the CIF-SS Div. III golf finals in 2022 and is gearing up for a successful 2023 campaign. Keegan also competes for St. Margaret's cross-country program and produced top-five finishes in the CIF-SS Div. V finals in 2021 and 2022.
 
Keegan is a Toyota Golf Tour Cup member and, in SCJGA competition, recorded a first-place finish at the David L. Baker Tournament, a third-place finish at Arrowhead and Shandin Hills and a sixth-place finish at Menifee Lakes.
 
In his free time, Keegan volunteers with young golf students in Orange County through the First Tee organization, which teaches life and golf skills.
 
Keegan intends to major in computer science at Tufts.
 
Sam Dunnell, San Diego State University
 
Sam Dunnell, a four-year member of St. Margaret's football program, has committed to continue his studies and football career at NCAA Division-I San Diego State University.
 
Sam, an offensive and defensive threat, is a 2022 first-team All-CIF selection in football and an Orange County North vs. South Game nominee. Sam led the Tartans in interceptions with four during the 2022 season.
 
At St. Margaret's, Sam also competes in the 100m, 200m, 4x100 and high jump on the track & field team.
 
Sam volunteers with The Ecology Center in San Juan Capistrano, helping with mentoring and daily chores.
 
Sam intends to major in finance at San Diego State.
 
Audrey Harrington, Lehigh University
 
Audrey Harrington, a three-year member of the Tartan tennis program, has committed to study and play tennis at NCAA Division-I Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa.
 
Audrey is a member of St. Margaret's 2022 CIF-SS Team semifinal and 2019 and 2021 quarterfinal squads and amassed a 52-1 record in her freshman campaign. Audrey, a singles and doubles player, has accumulated 32 amateur tournament wins and has been ranked in the top 100 U14 and U16 players in Southern California.
 
Audrey is the leader of the Chinese Language and Culture club at St. Margaret's and plans to major in business and economics with minors in Chinese and entrepreneurship at Lehigh.
 
Liesel Blau, Swarthmore College
 
Liesel Blau, a member of the Tartans 2021 CIF-SS Soccer Semifinal squad, has committed to study and play soccer at NCAA Division-III Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, Penn.
 
Liesel, an accomplished soccer and futsal athlete, has been a four-year member of St. Margaret's soccer program. She has helped guide the Tartans to two league championships and four CIF-SS postseason appearances. Liesel plays for West Coast FC at the club level and was an Academy Cup Champion with Orange County Soccer Club's U17 Academy team in 2021. Liesel is also a four-year member and captain of the USA Youth National Futsal Team. At St. Margaret's, Liesel is also a two-time third-place finisher at the CIF State Cross-Country Championships and a Tartans' 2019 CIF-SS Cross-Country Champion team member.
 
As well as serving as the only female coach at OC Premier Futsal Academy, Liesel is the founder and co-president of the Hearts to Hearts community service club at St. Margaret's. A two-year member of the Tartan ASB, Liesel has also served as an Admission Ambassador for two years. In addition, through Girl Scouts of America, Liesel has embarked on a seven-year service project making or collecting and delivering more than 6,000 holiday cards to senior citizens living in skilled nursing facilities. Liesel has been honored with the 2022 Council on Aging Southern California Impact Award for her ongoing work on this project. 
 
Liesel intends to major in biochemistry with a pre-med track at Swarthmore.
 
Andrew Miehe, University of Pennsylvania
 
Andrew Miehe, a four-year member of St. Margaret's baseball program, has committed to continue his academic and baseball career at NCAA Division-I University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
 
Andrew has been an integral part of the Tartans' success on the baseball diamond and a valued member of St. Margaret's football team. At the club baseball level, Andrew has been selected as a Perfect Game Preseason All-American and is a two-time USA Baseball U16 & U17 West Champion.
 
Andrew intends to major in business analytics at Penn.
 
Brady Moseley, Colby College
 
Brady Moseley, a captain of the Tartans' 2022 volleyball team, has committed to study and play volleyball at NCAA Division-III Colby College in Waterville, Maine.
 
Brady has been a four-year member of St. Margaret's volleyball program and a two-year player on the Tartans' beach volleyball squad, and has helped guide St. Margaret's to two Dave Mohs Memorial Volleyball Tournament and Portola Volleyball Tournament titles. An all-league selection in both sports, Brady has also competed for St. Margaret's track & field team in the high jump.
 
At the club level, Brady has competed for A4 and 951 Figs clubs and won Lone Star Classic, JVA West Coast Cup, Red Rocks Rave and Summer Soiree tournament championships.
 
Brady volunteers her time with Special Camp and is a peer counselor at St. Margaret's.
 
Eileen Sadati, Massachusetts Institute of Technology
 
Eileen Sadati, a member of St. Margaret's volleyball 2022 Orange Coast League Champion team, has committed to study and play volleyball at NCAA Division-III Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Mass.
 
Eileen helped lead the Tartans to tournament championships at the Dave Mohs Memorial (2022) and Portola (2021, 2022) volleyball tournaments. At the club level, Eileen has been a four-year player at A4 Volleyball Club, winning titles at the 2023 Regional SVCA, Lone Star Classic and Red Rock Rave tournaments.
 
Eileen is a volunteer tutor for Breakthrough San Juan Capistrano, an English tutor for Afghan refugees through Mary's List and serves as a Tartan Tutor at St. Margaret's.
 
Eileen plans on majoring in mathematical economics at M.I.T.
 
Jack Stahl, Princeton University
 
Jack Stahl, a four-year member of St. Margaret's lacrosse team, has committed to study and play lacrosse at NCAA Division-I Princeton University in Princeton, N.J.
 
Jack, a mainstay of the Tartans' defensive unit on the lacrosse field, was a Second-Team All-CIF and All-Orange County selection in 2022. Jack competes for Mad Dog National at the club level.
 
Jack volunteers his time with the Tartan Beach Cleanup Club in association with the Surfrider Foundation, Family Assistance Ministries, the Orange County Boys and Girls Club and with Orange County Food Bank.
