Freshman Jessica Liu Sinks Hole in One as Tartans Down Costa Mesa

St. Margaret's defeated the Mustangs 202-267 on Wednesday.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Tartan girls golf program kept their unbeaten streak alive, defeating Costa Mesa High School 202-267 at Costa Mesa Country Club.

The highlight of the day was freshman Jessica Liu's hole-in-one with a 95-yard tee shot into the wind on the par-3 second hole at the Mesa Linda course. The spectacular shot marks Liu's second lifetime ace and first in her high school career. Liu finished the round with a 36, just one above par for the course.

"I have been playing golf for 25 years and have zero holes in one; she is a freshman in high school and has two," said Tartan head coach Daniel Solarz. "She is an amazing talent."

Rounding out the top performers for the Tartans, Gabby Eifrig finished even par with a 35, while Madison Lewis, Rianne Ke, and Amber Lin shot 43 (+8), 43 (+8) and 44 (+9), respectively.

The Tartans next face Orange High School in league competition at San Juan Hills on Tuesday, Sept. 27.
