Tartan Girls Golf Battles Through Tough Conditions and Opponents to Remain Unbeaten

St. Margaret's dispatched Estancia 209-299 on Sept. 8.
St. Margaret's girls golf program had to contend with blistering heat and talented opponents to improve to 4-0 over the past week of play.
 
On Tuesday, Sept. 6, The Tartans faced non-league opponent Westminster High School and came away with a 192-225 victory at Meadowlark Golf Club. Gabby Eifrig (30, 6-under) and Jessica Liu (43, 2-under) turned in stellar performances to notch a third straight win for St. Margaret's. Eifrig had a career-best round, tallying an eagle, four birdies and four pars, while Liu had three birdies and five pars in the victory. Also contributing were Madison Lewis (39, 3-over), Amber Lin (42, 6-over) and Branda Hu (47, 11-over).
 
The Tartans followed up with another win on Sept. 8, downing league opponent Estancia 209-299 in very rough conditions at San Juan Hills. Freshman Jessica Liu dominated with an even-par 36 with a birdie and seven pars. Gabby Eifrig followed close behind with a 38 and two birdies and five pars. Rianne Ke (43), Madison Lewis (45) and Kate Lee (46) supported St. Margaret's effort.
 
The Tartans will face Calvary Chapel Santa Ana in league action at Willowick Golf Course on Monday, Sept. 12.
