Girls Volleyball Posts First League Win, Downs Orange 3-0

The Tartans got a jump on the 2022 campaign Monday evening.
St. Margaret's girls volleyball program picked up its first Orange Coast League victory with a 3-0 win over Orange High School Monday night.

The Tartans were led by Brady Moseley's 10 kills with no errors on 15 attempts. Caroline Otterbein contributed five kills on seven attempts, and Carly Grumet added four kills on seven attempts – all exceptional hitting percentages. Carly Hermann had service runs of 13, 14, and eight points in a row, while Leila Rooney contributed a run of 11 straight points.

"One of the goals for matches is to have a serve success rate of 90%," said head coach Bob Yoder. "Against Orange the team hit an all-time high with a success rate of just over 97%, which is incredible!"

The Tartans have started the 2022 campaign at full speed, defeating Foothill High School 3-1 and producing a strong showing at the Tesoro Volleyball Tournament. Up next for the Tartans is Dana Hills High School on Tuesday, August 23.
