St. Margaret's Excels at CIF-SS Track & Field Finals

The Tartan athletes represented well at Moorpark High on Saturday.
The Tartans had a great day in both the field and track events at the CIF-SS Finals on Saturday, with every athlete having the honor of standing on the podium for a medal in their respective event.

Luci Hill would start the day by finishing 4th in the high jump with a height of 4'10"  - that mark is third all-time in school history.

The girls 4x100 team consisting of Malia Todd, Sophia Kistler, Coco Johnson and Makenna Lizarde would place fifth with a time of 50.15.

Celeste Taylor came in second in the pole vault with a clearance of 11'6". She had a great vault at 12 feet to win the event but missed it by centimeters.

*Due to an unprecedented 12-way tie, Taylor will represent St. Margaret's at the CIF Masters event on Saturday, May 21 at Moorpark High.

Everett Capelle would be the Tartans' final competitor of the day finishing 5th in the 1600m with a time of 4:30.00

"The team did a great job competing out there today, and watching every athlete on that podium is truly special. We are a young team, and today was a small indication of what's to come in the next couple of years," said head coach Edgar Vazquez. "We, of course, wouldn't be in this spot if it were not for the care and love that our seniors put into their younger teammates and this program. I want to thank every senior in our program for leading their team to so much success this season. We will miss you, and we are forever grateful for what you have done at St. Margaret's. Good luck in college!"
