St. Margaret’s dance program was in the spotlight last weekend, as two performances showcased more than 120 Tartan dancers from Early Childhood School through grade 12 on the Hurlbut Theater stage.

The Middle School and Upper School Spring Dance Concert was a culminating event for 54 dancers grades 6-12, including five seniors performing for the last time as Tartans—Makayla Arnoldi, Olivia Heim, Caroline Kinsey, Olivia Ostlund and Leah Weiss.

The concert consisted of 21 total pieces, performed by Upper School advanced dance, US beginning/intermediate dance, MS grade 6, grade 7 and grade 8 dance, and 13 dancers in the Tartan Dance Company.

In addition, the concert featured composition honors projects from three juniors and two seniors, who choreographed a piece for a dancer as part of the class, Advanced Dance & Composition Honors. Click here to view the full program.

The next day, the Dance Conservatory Sharing featured six performances from groups with students from Early School dance through grade 5. A total of 82 dancers performed.

For both performances, the Tartan Dance Company performed “Hypnosis” before a finale to the song “Celebration” featuring all of the performers.
