St. Margaret’s had 10 members of its professional community at last week’s Spring CUE Conference in Palm Springs, as they pursued professional-development opportunities targeted to their division in subject areas like STEAM, history, and information and media literacy.
The Spring CUE Conference is an annual gathering of educators with the goal of inspiring innovative learners in all disciplines through fostering community, personalizing learning, infusing technology, developing leadership and advocating educational opportunities for all.
The professional community members attended numerous sessions, including presentations on updating pedagogical practices, effectively using educational technology, and improving equity and inclusivity in the classroom.
The 10 are members of St. Margaret’s educational technology think tank, led by Director of Educational Technology and Library Angela Mackenzie. Joining Mrs. Mackenzie at Spring CUE were Middle School librarian Darla Magana, Lower School digital literacy teacher Melissa Fisher, Upper School library teacher Stacey von Winckelmann, Lower School technology teacher Laura Redman, Middle School math teacher Veronica Johns-Richardson, Upper School history teacher Kristina Taylor, Lower School art teacher Mary Mayer-Grubb, and grade 4 teachers Casey Hagy and Lindsay Neuhausen.
