The Tartans defeated Aliso Niguel 15-7 on Wednesday.
St. Margaret's girls lacrosse program overcame first-game jitters and relied on a high-energy effort and team hustle to top Aliso Niguel 15-7 on Wednesday evening.

Junior Lauren Lam led the Tartans with five goals, three assists, seven caused turnovers and six groundballs to keep St. Margaret's in control of the game. Minka Martinez (3g, 3a), Tessa Grosshans (4g), Thalia Pollard (1g, 1a), Grace Burke (1g) and Elise Pfeffer (1g) rounded out the scoring for the Tartans. The win also marked the first career victory as Tartan head coach for Megan Armes.

"I'm so proud that the players have bought in and how hard they work mentally and physically each day. While the mantra each game will change, I know I can count on them always to play their game," said Armes. "I am confident we will continue to improve in the days ahead, and I am hopeful that we will continue to find success this season!"

The Tartans will return to play on Tuesday, March 1, facing Sage Creek High School on the road. Game time is scheduled for 5 p.m.
