Students Test Their Knowledge of the World at the MS Geography Bee

The students answered challenging questions about oceans, continents and countries in front of their Middle School peers.
Twenty-six Middle School students showed off their deep knowledge of the world around them, answering challenging questions about oceans, continents and countries as part of the annual Middle School Geography Bee in Hurlbut Theater.

The competition went five rounds before a top-3 was determined, then the final two contestants went back and forth for three more rounds before grade 8 student Leo Yang was asked “Molloy Deep is the deepest point in which ocean, the smallest in the world?”

He correctly answered the Arctic Ocean to win the Geography Bee, edging out fellow grade 8 student Eddie Leigh. Grade 8 student King Oung rounded out the top three.

Joining the top three on stage for the Bee were grade 8 students Rohen Vargo, Claire Cho, Dawson Mai, Audrey Kim, Lucas Monge, Alina Chen and Richard Feng; grade 7 students Riley Bredall, Jason Huang, Jack Kleinhanzl, Sam Ruff, Brendan Lyons, Cadence Liu, Luke Evanson and Charlotte Burch; and grade 6 students Jinbo Yao, Dane Olsen, Lauryn Harris, Charles Martin, Gloria Zhou, Tanner McRae, Anna Farias and Liam Griffin.
